I've thought a lot about this and I think I might be a cat. Actually, I might be three cats. By my calculation, I’ve lived approximately twenty-seven personal and professional lives - their collective trajectories spanning psychological and emotional abuse as a child; to painful and difficult origin-family dynamics; to many jobs, including as a singing server at the famous Improv in LA and NYC; a career in acting and music; decades as a voiceover artist; working with seniors and their families in the senior living industry; and as a marketing consultant for a national franchise.
After leaving home, my path took me through two failed and one spectacularly successful marriage, all before forty; and the longing for and ultimate accomplishment of motherhood to three incredible kids, each arriving via a different mode of transport: one “natural,” one adopted, and one born from a donor-egg at forty-six. I was forty-six. Jack was a lot younger when he was born.
While I’m not a professional in the field of psychology or fertility, I am an expert, having lived a life filled with significant challenges and triumphing over them. And I've amassed many stories along the way - some hilarious, some harrowing - all of which have empowered me to offer a meaningful message, and given me the greatest good fortune there is - to help others.
As an author, keynote speaker, and online course creator, I hope my story can reach and resonate with readers, listeners, and students. My memoir entitled ONE FROM EACH COLUMN: My 46-Year Trek from Abusive Childhood to Elusive Motherhood, along with our online course, is planned for release very soon.
So, please visit from time to time, and I’ll hope to make you laugh, perhaps shed a tear, inspire you and, and help you achieve your dreams!
In gratitude,
Jodi
